There is a significant ethnic and racial diversity, but there is some less acceptance when it comes to gay and lesbian groups.

Diversity at Winona State is very poor. There are many international students that come to Winona, but when it comes to people of color the population is very small. This campus is predominately white. There is a lot of ignorance here at Winona State concerning anything that is considered diverse whether it is race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation etc. Winona is slowly making progress but still has a long way to go before they accomplish diversity.

Winona really focuses on diversity. I am an orientation leader here and they really stress trying to have people of all shapes, sizes, and color come together and interact. Our diversity club is pretty large and we have a large number of foreign exchange students. The downfall is that most of the foreign exchange students stick together, which is kind of defeating the purpose of the program, in my opinion.

The diversity is huge at Winona State. There are many different clubs or organizations that are well-supported and accepting. Everyone on campus is friendly and are willing to explore other backgrounds or ideals. However, there is a higher percentage of females that attend Winona State than males.
