As long as you register on time you can get the classes that you want at the time.

Teacher did not teach her own material therefor made it very difficult to study and do homework. She would tell chapters to study and they would have nothing to do with the assignment.

Wiregrass is not the kind of school you want to go to if you're looking to cheer on a sports team or play basketball on a court in your free time. They don't supply any of that at the Valdosta campus at least. They do have a really nice cafeteria where they serve the same foods everyday. You order what you want. All the foods are priced separately. My only complaint about the food is no free refills on drinks. Their are many smoking areas on campus which are typically far enough away from the entrances of the buildings to where a non-smoker would not be bothered by the smoking. They offer little social clubs for Christians, Veterans and a few in the different majors. They send out many e-mails per week about different meetings, so if you were ever interested in joining one of the clubs, you wouldn't have a chance to miss them. There is free wi-fi all over campus. You don't need a password to connect, but do realize that the internet is moderated. You can't use it for social media such as Facebook or Twitter. But then again, you are at school.
If you're involved in any of the health sciences program, be prepared for a very hands on experience. It's part of the reason why I am at Wiregrass. I am a hands on learner and learning how to perform CPR on a dummy is much more effective than watching a video on it. You learn through instruction, then through watching the professor perform, then you perform. One of my instructors had the students perform and perform again until they got the task 100% correct. It is very encouraging as a health sciences major to be taught the correct way and perform it the correct way.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I give Wiregrass a B+ because their tuition is relatively cheap compared to the other schools in the area. Last I checked, tuition was $97/credit hour which is much cheaper than the crosstown schools which are $120+/credit hour. It's very easy to get financial aid at Wiregrass. Their F.A. office is about 3-4 people. They're all very friendly and eager to help you pay for your schooling. I've had no problems with getting my financial aid filed for. My only problem is the way the financial aid is determined. I know it has nothing to do with the school and mostly everything to do with the federal government seeing as how I'm getting a federal loan. However, I work one job and had no problems getting school paid for. And with the HOPE Grant, which everyone going to WGTC should look into, I had school paid for and got some money back, again with no problems. My only tip for receiving aid here is to file before classes start, if possible. Fill out your FAFSA form now. Get your loan/scholarship/grant papers in now. It makes it so much easier to get your money in before your classes start and before you risk losing your schedule.

I love going to school at Wiregrass. The professors are very professional and because of such small class sizes, they are more than willing to work with you and get you to make the grade you deserve. Also because of the small class sizes, they can tell very easily whether or not you are trying which is helpful for those who are trying in their courses. It gives them more individualized attention. The curriculum for the Registered Nurses program is about the same at any other 2 year nursing school. It's very do-able. It's challenging enough to where I know that I am learning something great for my future career. Registration is very easy. You meet with an adviser and they talk with you about how you are doing in current classes or how you have done in past classes, then they ask where you want to go from there. They personalize your class load every semester, working with your job, home life, family. It's very simple and convenient.

I am hoping to be part of the first class of ASN majors through Wiregrass and not SWGTC. Our workload is very challenging, but hopefully will be very rewarding. My only problem with the Nursing program is that they don't accept more applicants per semester. This makes it very difficult for people who are dedicated to the nursing education, but have a hard time making amazing grades. Part of the campus is brand new so there are fantastic projectors and new computers and programs to help with academics. The library could use some more materials, but there is only so much they can do with the funds they are given which is why I'm glad they have a cross-town agreement with Valdosta State. I've heard of no internship opportunities at Wiregrass pertaining to the medical field.

I enjoy taking online courses at Wiregrass. The courses are amped up in difficulty because you have to discipline yourself to follow up with the class and be on time with assignments. But if you are dedicated to getting your degree, keeping up with your assignments shouldn't be a problem. It's very easy to get in touch with the teachers. They all provide e-mail addresses to contact them through. Many of them also leave phone numbers in case of school related emergencies. Depending on whether or not the professor has a message board set up, you don't really have much contact with other students, but that can help cut back with distractions when learning.

I havent had any problems with my schools student body. Everyone goes to school to get their education and is mature about it. I havent noticed any problems and I get along with everyone great. Everyone is friendly and smiles at you in the halls when you walk by.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Wiregrass offers afforadable classes and reasonable priced book rates. The financial aid office at Wiregrass runs smoothly. They are very helpful getting your funds setup and having them ready for you to use when you need them.

When I transferred to Wiregrass, my advisor made it very easy for me to start right away. The college made me feel welcome and cared about. All my credits transferred, and my advisor helped me work out a schedule that worked for me and allowed to stay employed outside of school as well.

Wiregrass offers awesome job fairs and the staff is very helpful in finding a job with you. My instructor also sent me emails of job opeings in the area to help me look for a job better.

This school has smaller classes so there is more time for questions during class time and one on one time instead of having a tutor. The instructors on campus have all been very nice and concerned about the welfare of the student's grades and the student. At the Fitzgerald campus there is no on campus living area but there isn't really a need because there are many older adults who attend which wouldn't be interested in on campus living and every one who attends lives approximately within twenty miles anyway.
