I've heard living off campus is better, but transportation in New Orleans isn't the best, so if you don't have a car find someone with one or forget living off campus, because you will never make it to class on time.

Most of the students that decide to move off campus either live UNO's campus or find apartments in nearby Metarie. Either direction is typically a 10-15 minute commute.

I currently live on campus. However, I have friends who live in the houses around campus and they love it. I am also in the process of looking for an off campus apartment.

Apartments Are Trash – The area that the school is located is not the best. To get a decent apartment a student must go at least twenty to thirty minutes away.
You may ask what is decent, well, I look for quality of the neighborhood, affordability, and what's accessible around the place. There some apartments within walking proximity, but they are close to Holly Grove, which used to be a notorious drug area. It's not safe to walk back there at night, as is the case for most places.
There is a nice neighborhood about half a mile from school, but the prices are a little steep for college students who aren't loaded. A one bedroom could rum from $850+ a month and that doesn't include utilities.
Just be careful where you choose to stay. Ask a professor or upperclassman about areas.

I don't live in off campus housing at the university.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
