College Prowler Take
Lack of adequate parking is one of the major gripes heard around campus. Most of the lots rest atop a large hill overlooking the layout of the campus, and unless you’re lucky enough to grab a spot in one of the coveted lower lots such as R-1, it’s going to be a long hike to wherever you’re trying to go. Parking tickets and fines at and around Xavier are as steep as the hill on R-2, ranging from $20 to $50! However, the parking is well organized, with designated lots for residents and commuters and corresponding stickers that ensure everyone parks where they’re supposed to.
Luckily, even if you park your car what seems like light-years away from where you need to be, the campus police will make sure it’s safe. Positioning patrol cars in the parking lots after dark, the police make their presence felt to thwart any would-be window-smashing stereo thieves. There are also cameras near all of the on-campus lots, making it even harder for such vandals to ruin your day.

Parking is not a problem. The longest walk to your car might be 10 minutes, if you were walking from all the way on the other side of campus. |

It’s easy to park, unless you mind being out in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise, it’s crowded. |

There is enough parking for everyone on campus. There are two main residential lots for the students living in the dorms. Students will have to walk up a rather steep hill if they cannot find a spot in the lower lot. There is commuter parking all around the campus, and I have not heard any complaints about not being able to find a spot. |
