One thing New Haven is actually known for in a positive sense is its food. There are so many different cuisines available really close by, because Yale is in a city. Some great restaurants are Sushi on Chapel and Thai Taste. Yorkside pizza is super close and where everyone ends up at 1am on the weekends after going out. There are also a bunch of coffee shops/cafes... Check out Atticus, or Claire's, a delicious vegetarian bakery. For not-so-healthy stuff, there are tons of fro-yo places, an Insomnia cookies, and newly added Shake Shack. Most places aren't too expensive, especially compared to other cities like New York.
