While many colleges have one dining hall, Yale has 14. While most of them serve the same thing at a given time, each has its own quirks, and the variety in place is much appreciated. The freshman meal plan covers three meals a day for weekdays, and brunch and dinner on the weekends. Food is generally pretty good, although it gets repetitive. There are definitely a lot of vegetarian/vegan options, as evidenced by there being tofu in some form at almost every meal. There is always a salad bar, cereal bar, and sandwhich-making station, if you don't like what's on the hot menu. Stiles is probably the best dining hall even though it gets really crowded, as it has a pizza oven and wok station. You can also use your lunch swipe at Durfee's, a little convenience store that is SUPER overpriced... but they do have sushi.
