| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
- Don't forget that while money is a helpful thing to have on hand, it can be much more gratifying (and resume-boosting) to volunteer your time. Yalies are very involved in community service in New Haven. Options include tutoring kids in under-privileged areas, working with the homeless, singing in nursing homes, and working at the Yale Farm.
- Finding a summer job, internship, or career can be an incredibly overwhelming experience, especially when you have no idea what you want to or can do. This is where Undergraduate Career Services steps in. While they can’t do the deciding for you, they offer a variety of resources from personal guidance appointments to job databases, career fairs, and on-campus interview programs.
- Good at math, writing, or a language? Work as a tutor and make money helping other Yalies master concepts and finish problem sets.
- On-campus jobs are the best and easiest way to make money at Yale. There are tons of opportunities to do interesting things and get paid. Students work in the libraries, as docents for Yale's museums, as research assistants, as master's aides, and even as paid choir members. Many students work as part of their financial aid package.
