Parking Permits

It is relatively easy to get a parking permit. However, they are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Forms are available online beginning July 1 every year.

College Prowler Take

While on-campus parking permits are available to students, most do not have a car or think one is necessary. Most places are within walking distance, and most social activities are contained on campus. Plus, New York City and Boston are just a train ride away. However, if you are the type of person who gets bored in one location or who likes to explore new locations as a hobby, it could be helpful to have a car. Students note that Connecticut has some fun places to explore.

If you do decide to bring your car, it can be more pain than it is worth. Most students observe that the parking lot locations are inconvenient and that the costs are unreasonable. In the end, it might be cheaper and easier to use public transportation for trips and adventures unless you can find an alternate parking situation.

It is usually easy to park, but you have to pay the monetary equivalent of your first born child, and then you have to walk to the boondocks of New Haven to the garage. I think that it’s not worth it to have a car here.

Parking is not easy during move in or move out days; it’s hell on earth. This coming year will be the first I’ll have a car on campus, so I can’t fully answer that until the fall.

Parking sucks and is expensive. If you can find a place to house your vehicle when not using it, then definitely do. Connecticut has some cool stuff to do. It can sometimes get boring, but there are major hubs of activity within reasonable driving distances.

There are garages you have to pay for or you can park on the street. Parking on the street can be tough at times, but sooner or later, you can always find an open spot.

Parking can sometimes be a hassle. If you don’t absolutely need a car, then I wouldn’t kill yourself to bring one.
