There are few resources on campus aside from a small two computer library. The library does have a large table that is useful when you need to spread your work out and it is typically a quiet space. We have a student lounge which includes table and a microwave and snack machines. The lounge is mainly a place that student bring in their fast food or food from home and eat in between classes.

I love it at YBI, instructors are helpful. Gain a lot of friendships, school is small but it's a good place to learn.

I love the experience I am getting here. The classes are informational yet interesting. The teachers are professional but know how to make learning fun. Our professors are always able to be contacted, and so what they can to help. Since I have started here, I have yet to complain about a single day at school. I actually look forward to coming back, and when we're on break I miss everyone.

Each of my professors express different qualities. Every professor of course lacks in small areas but their strengths well make up for it. Each class is always engaging, and informational. Reviews and tests are given weekly, sometimes after each chapter to make sure we stay on top of what we've learned. I feel this helps me with my studies due to the information is still fresh, and then added to the next course load so not to be forgotten. Whenever you need help the professors are always willing to make sure you get what you need to get your work done, or caught up (if that's the case). Each professor displays their professional appearance but can still remain a bit humorous with students. I am loving this whole experience, and I look forward to more semesters at this institute.

This in not a college more like a middle school. I would never tell anyone to attend this school. THe teachers are not helpful, you do not learn information needed to to your job. I am about to graduate and have yet to learn any information I feel like I will use in the real world. I have attended other colleges, and this is not a real one. This is not professional or somewhere anyone should attend. If you must go to a career school I would say YTI, I would of went there if they offered my major but sadly they dont. This school is not one you want to attend. I am warning you, you will be unhappy with your choice, like I did.

General Campus – There is no athletic or student center. We have to use the public library and I seriously don't think they have many campus activities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
School Tuition – I have a computer that was given to me by the school, but it doesn't have any of the features it says it has. I had to pay up front for the computer and it was over 1,000 dollars. I feel as though I should have been able to get a computer I wanted, for cheaper.

considering the fact I am going for a certificate I am very pleased with what I am learning at YBI. so far I have received a very good education. All of my classes are related to my major.I spend about a total 15 hours a week out of class studying and doing homework. The schedule for the program is very good. I am able to go to school while working 15-20 hours a week. The school is more then willing to help students find jobs and included in the program is a 4 week paid Internship working in the student Run Bakery.

Satisfied Student – I am satisfied with the education, I am receiving, However I wish yorktowne Business Institute had student clubs and organizations. I also wish that the school would update equipment. I am very pleased with my Instructors. Chef Jamie Good is excellent and very prepared for class. She always has an excellent lesson prepared and follows the syllabus. For Example. When I was learning cake decorating for the first time, she took time with each student, to show them one on one how to correctly make each individual cake decoration.

A Little Crowded – Since I only live 15 minutes away from the school it was pretty much my number one choice for education. The hassles with my experience at the institution comes from having a larger than normal class size which limits how many people can be using certain tools to get things done and a switching of teachers 2/3 of the way through the first term.

Helpful Teachers Are Key – Most of the professors are very helpful and know what they're talking about or are willing to help you find the information you're looking for. The school is mostly known for culinary because it has a student-run restaurant.

Set It and Forget It – When I walked into the financial aid office I thought I was going to be swamped with decisions and paperwork but folks at YBI helped me every step of the way.

there currently is no online courses for the pastry chef program,
that would be a big help if we could use an online course to watch movies, etc. we have to come in for about an hour just to do this, so if we could view this online, that ould be a plus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
