The students I have met desire excellence, are ethnically diverse, and come from all sorts of cultural and socieconomic backgrounds. I believe we all desire great success personally, but even more importanct is I think we each desire to impact global challenges and really stirve to make a difference in the world at large.

Did not take any online courses so far but believe they are necessary.

Overall Young Harris is very personal and I feel they care about me as an individual. I am allowed to grow and encouraged to find my inate strengths and become more than I could imagine. I I feel the professors offer great insight, knowledge, and are true subject matter experts stimulating intellectual growth and development for each of us. Registeration for classes is easy allowing for a manageable schedule while also offering the classes and times I need.

Students at Young Harris are all so friendly and make everyone feel at home. Most of the students will talk to you and become friends with you the very first time you meet and you know everyone because the campus is so small. Most of the students come from different countries all over the world to play sports for the school and that makes Young Harris even more special because it gives students a chance to learn about other countries in cultures outside of the classroom and make friends from all walks of life.

Professors at Young Harris are so great. They work around my crazy sports schedule and make their students in the classes known unlike most bigger schools where a professor may not even know your name by the end of the year.

Young Harris College was everything I ever wanted in a college and more. Just days after moving in for my freshman year, I was treated like I was just another part of the Young Harris family. The students there are all so friendly and I really enjoyed going to the athletic events as well as being privileged enough to get to play on the women's lacrosse team the very first year that it was formed. Young Harris is my dream college and anyone would be more than lucky to go there. This college is the perfect place if you love a beautiful view, a good bit of snow in the winter, and a close knit community that becomes just like another family.

The academic advisers at Young Harris go above and beyond to help with any and everything that you may need. They have not only helped me with making my schedule but also talked with me about my major and all the job options available for that major. These women helped me figure out my occupation for the future and I'm not the only one.

I do not know much about transferring credits because I plan on staying al four years but I do know that at Young Harris they will work with you for summer schooling and have forms so credits will transfer to them during the regular school year.

It depends. Being a student who is non-traditional, I socialize with others who are also non-traditional, but I also socialize with others who are traditional. This is a friendly school for the most part.

It's easier for those just out of high school... a little more challenging for those who are going back after a time.

I commute and it is close to home...my only issue is it isn't that flexible for commuters.

A brand new gymnasium was just built two years ago. It's very nice. It has two basketball courts, a yoga/dance room. It has some classroom/meeting rooms in it. Also a rock wall and new equipment for working out. They built a balance cafe in it as well, and an inside track too. So that was a huge plus when coming to young Harris. Also they are currently building a new residents hall, should be finished in the fall of 2013 and in 3 more years there will be a new student center that will have a food court, classrooms, library, etc. in it.

The computer network is pretty good. Internet is fast but occasionally we have problems where Internet is down in certain buildings. But the good thing is the school gets it back up quickly.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Young Harris is an expensive school, but they try to help each student by giving scholarship money as much as possible. The money I am paying to go there is worth it. I know once I get my earned degree it will all be worth it.

Helped me to budget my time and helped me practice self motivation

Mostly the campus isn't completely diverse. Yes, they have diversity, but the majority of the campus is Caucasian. Yes, they have students from different countries, but there's only a handful. The school is Methodist, so, as an agnostic person, the religious diversity isn't great at all. I've been shut down by some people because I wasn't Methodist. Sexual orientation isn't a problem at all; about half the campus population is gay.

Young Harris costs a lot of money, I'm not going to lie. More than I ever thought my tuition would be, quite frankly. I got one scholarship through them and then grants and Hope, but that only went so far. The most they could do for me is tell me about a loan I could take out, but that still leaves me paying about 3,000 a semester, not including books and the meal plan (which they require you to have).

In my opinion the professors are the best part of the academic program at Young Harris College. They really care for their students and will go above and beyond to help them as long as the student makes the effort to come see them and ask for help. Registration day though is a bit hectic and it is always good to set up the classes you want at least the day before online and get up to register online as soon as it tells you you can register that day to make sure you get the classes you want and the times you want them.

There is a library on campus where there are ample computers and the librarians are very helpful. In the library they also have a printer where it is only 5 cents for black and white pages and 10 cents for color. The network is normally very reliable but the campus tech's are usually available if anything is acting up. So I guess you would not need a computer on campus but I always found in more convenient.

I played soccer all four years I attended this college and the teachers really work with you if you have a game to go to and will be missing class or lab. Not to say you don't have to make the material up, but they understand and are helpful. Also since you are able to pick your own schedule this can for the most part be avoided if you pick earlier class times.

New and newer things to come! Good to live on and commute. Once you get involved, there is never a lack of things to do or places to be

Wireless internet is a B grade right now, they promise it will get better, however! The library and computer lab are always open and have better internet access...

The school gives us transportation to Walmart sometimes and even voting! They are working on some very nice improvements and I can't wait to see the finished products!!!! The size of this school is so perfect for me because you really are a name, not a number here!

The professors are very involved in students academic progress. They will work with you one-on-one. There are many classes offered, depending on your major and your interests. There are study abroad options.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
