YSU is primarily a commuter school, which means that parking spaces are coveted by drivers and often hard to find. Try to arrive half an hour earlier than necessary to ensure a parking space.

The two parking garages, on Wick and Lincoln, fill up very fast in the early morning hours. The Wick parking deck is more spacious and less crowded than the Lincoln deck, the latter of which is easier to get claustrophobic while waiting for a spot. The process of exiting the Lincoln deck can be a nightmare when everyone is attempting to rush home. So, for commuters, Wick is the better bet. For students living on campus, there are more parking lots near the residence halls. The cost of parking permits, when compared to rates of other schools, is actually inexpensive. However, Parking Services patrols the campus constantly, anxious to fine unsuspecting students for random parking violations.
